Brothers Stos (Guitar/Vocals) and Miti Goneos (Drums/Vocals) form fuzz riddled rock ‘n roll outfit Bite The Buffalo. Written and self produced in a lighthouse off the coast of Dorset, ‘Blue Lips’ is the first single taken from their forthcoming debut album ‘Blue Lips’ on UK label Daddy Longlegs Records. It’s a short and sweet blues-y number that propels itself along subtly before suddenly erupting halfway through into a full throttle tear-out affair.
Armed with a 70’s Hofner, a Marshall Stack and a shed load of fuzz, the British born brothers did most of their growing up in the mining towns of The Copperbelt, Zambia. With no record stores or outlets like MTV, they discovered their Western Influences from their Grandparent’s old Beatles vinyl and from relatives visiting bringing gift wrapped Nirvana and Led Zeppelin CDs.
Fast forward a few years to 2012 and the band had fully developed an impossibly spontaneous live show, released their ‘Bromigos’ EP and had taken up a busy touring schedule around the UK, Europe and the USA. This year the band take the show on the road once again for a full tour of the USA in March and April, performing at SXSW Festival, Los Angeles, Nashville, Las Vegas and New Orleans. They’ll be back in the UK for a summer tour of the festival circuit.
