NME Awards 2013 Winners Announced

It was that time of the year again last night as the skinny trousered masses descended upon the NME Awards to jeer, sneer and cheer at the assembled nominees. Some were deserved, some were a little rich, and some were down right ridiculous – we’re not naming any names but the list speaks for itself.

The winners included:

THE ROLLING STONES
DOUBLE VICTORY WITH BEST LIVE BAND AND BEST MUSIC FILM

FLORENCE WELCH
BEST SOLO ARTIST AND BEST DANCEFLOOR ANTHEM

BIFFY CLYRO
BEST BRITISH BAND

THE KILLERS
BEST INTERNATIONAL BAND

PALMA VIOLETS
BEST NEW BAND

THE CRIBS
OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO MUSIC

JOHNNY MARR
GODLIKE GENIUS

ONE DIRECTION
WORST BAND AND VILLAIN OF THE YEAR FOR HARRY STYLES

Johnny Marr was joined by Ronnie Wood and The Vaccines front man Justin Young to close the awards ceremony with a six song set.
