Indie/punk locals THE 10:04s (50 Quid is a cracking song XFM, a musical breath of fresh air EVENING STANDARD) have been selling out venues with a sound drawing influences from bands like The Cribs, The Libertines and The Kinks.

BLINDFOLDS is a young band making big waves on the Glasgow scene with sleazy, fuzzed-up rock in the BRMC/T-Rex vein, full of attitude and energy. These boys have got some seriously catchy songs. Check out their Voodoo EP for proof.

DAVEY HORNE from Falkirk is the real deal – like a glorious mix of Neil Young and Ryan Adams, this guy knows how to craft a song. Soulful, bluesy and the band is just top quality.

With influences ranging from The Clash to The Specials and Grand Funk Railroad, Glasgow’s SELECTIVE SERVICE brew up an intoxicating blend of funky bass-lines and banging beats.

Local lads THE HOLLOWS are masters of that classic Mod rock sound made famous by The Who. Expect massive guitars and sheer rock and roll spirit.

THE BOSTON TEA PARTY, a blues/folk band from Dundee with heavy Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac influences, is a band that Jake Bugg just can’t enough of (really great, bluesy sound . took me by surprise when I saw them).
