It’s the 12th Day Of Glasswerk and the geese are getting fat. Three piece alt-rockers Bleech give us the skinny on their Christmas shenanigans…
If you could spend Christmas anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Matt: Australia. It’s hot, although I do like snow but our country just can’t cope and I wonder what BBQ’d turkey would taste like between two buns.
What’s your favourite Christmas song?
Katherine: Cliff Richard’s “Mistletoe and Wine”. It’s so crap you have to laugh, but after more listens the comedic value lessens and I just want to slaughter a really happy koala bear.
Give us three things on your list this year.
Jen: Jack White’s new album. I haven’t got it yet but crave the riffs I’ve heard so far.
Katherine: More Grizzly Bear!
Matt: New shoes! Something must be living in mine by now.
Any favourite Christmas movies?
Jen: ‘Christmas Vacation’ for me. It doesn’t need to be Xmas to watch it though.
Matt: It’s got to be ‘The Grinch’.
Katherine: Or ‘Home Alone’…….there is actually a really good plasticine film made by Nick Park called Robbie the reindeer that comes on every year that’s hilarious.
What’s the worst Christmas you’ve ever had?
Matt: Is there such a thing? Turkey, Bailey’s, that drink called a “snowball” that everybody makes takes one sip and realises it’s eggy and tastes like shit. I love Xmas I do.
And the best?
Matt: When my Dad fell down the stairs pretending to be Santa when I was asleep. He still delivered the present, ate a bit of the carrot and drank all the sherry.
Have you got anything out that people should put on their lists this year?
Jen: I think maybe um…BLEECH’s album “Nude” is available out there…hint hint wink nudge.
Kath: There’s also an E.P to buy as well…..just what I’ve heard…
Who are you backing for Christmas Number 1?
Jen: “Who” is totally irrelevant because we all know that it will be some kind of manufactured turd. To be honest I hope it’s a re-release of “Mistletoe and Wine” I love that tune.
Which day is better and why: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or Boxing Day?
Katherine: Christmas Eve is much better because you don’t have a hangover from the day before. Christmas Day and Boxing Day are normally a struggle.
The Queens Speech – yay or nay?
Matt: Nay. Unless they provide subtitles, I can’t understand a word she’s saying. They should get Rastamouse to do it or something, with her mouth synced to it.
If you could stock some awesome Christmas related merch, what would it be?
Matt: Rudolph’s jingle bells.
Kath: Our Xmas covers album which all of the proceeds go to the “let’s capture Cliff” foundation.
