The 2nd Day Of Glasswerk: Crocodiles

Here at Glasswerk we don’t do things by halves. In fact, we do things by doubles – so we’re saying “bah humbug” to the 12 Days Of Christmas and a bloody massive “yo ho ho” to the 24 Days Of Glasswerk, where we’ll be bringing you a festive insight into some of your favourite bands, one a day until Christmas, in a horrendous advent calendar feature full to the brim with musical misfits.

“On the second day of Glasswerk my true love gave to me, San Diegoan reptilian psych poppers Crocodiles” – a right pair of turtle doves as we found out when we caught up with front man Charles Rowell.

If you could spend Christmas anywhere in the world, where would it be?

C: London can be quite majestic around the holidays especially with some snow for people to struggle through. I think any big city can be pretty fun. This year I will be in Thailand. I will let you know how that goes!

What’s your favourite Christmas song?

C: The Kinks – Father Christmas

Give us three things on your list this year.

C: Typhoid, Malaria and Yellow Fever

Have you been naughty or nice, and what did you do to deserve the title?

C: I never understood this part of the holiday. My enthusiasm for presents has declined rapidly since living in London, probably because I have no money!

Any favourite Christmas movies?

C: Scrooged starring Bill Murray is a favorite of my family home. It’s a tradition.

What’s the worst Christmas you’ve ever had?

C: Probably the Christmas right after my Father passed.

And the best?

C: 2010 because that is the year that I was first introduced to Christmas Crackers here in England.

Have you got anything out that people should put on their lists this year?

C: Merry Christmas Baby (Please Don’t Die) Cassette Tape on Art Fag Recordings and album Endless Flowers on Souterrain Transmissions.

Who are you backing for Christmas Number 1?

C: Mariah Carey.

Which day is better and why: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or Boxing Day?

C: Boxing Day is a big deal over here. I would say Boxing Day… at Loftus Road 😉

The Queens Speech – yay or nay?

C: She speaks?

If you could stock some awesome Christmas related merch, what would it be?

C: Lumps of black coal in the shape of penises with our band name engraved on the side.

Top 3 Christmas dinner components.

C: Crackers, Snow and Mulled Wine.

Single ’Bubblegum Trash’ was released on November 26th ahead of a one off headline show at London’s Barfly on November 17th.
