TeenStar, the exciting new singing competition for teens and pre-teens is pleased to announce that this year it will be supporting Nordoff Robbins, the charity which is dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and adults across the UK through music therapy.
TeenStar is a one of a kind singing contest which offers entrants the chance to be crowned the UK’s Best Teen Star and win £5,000 cash to spend on the development of their music. During the competition, TeenStar will be helping to raise awareness and as well as vital funds for Nordoff Robbins.
Jo Carter, Director of Fundraising and Communications at Nordoff Robbins said, “We are very excited that the TeenStar Competition is supporting Nordoff Robbins. It’s great that TeenStar will be giving young people up and down the country the opportunity to show off their musical talent. At Nordoff Robbins we believe that music has an incredible power to transform lives. Through music therapy Nordoff Robbins helps vulnerable children and adults who find it difficult to communicate and engage with everyday life. Music can reach people in a way that nothing else can and I wish everyone who takes part in the competition the best of luck!”
Events Director for TeenStar Chris Grayston is excited about the partnership, “We are delighted to have Nordoff Robbins working with TeenStar, and 100% support the work they do through the power of music. It is our pleasure to help raise money for this wonderful charity, and we look forward to working with them to raise more awareness!”
The competition, which anticipates more than 8,000 entrants in its first year, has auditions taking place across the UK in some of the best venues in the country. The competition will be judged by some of the music industry’s top professionals, including representatives from BBC Radio1, BBC Introducing, Kiss FM, Choice FM, regional press, local studios and record labels.
