With a slew of live dates booked for the next few weeks, Tom Williams & the Boat have confirmed the release of a very special, hand made and numbered DVD – the first 4 minutes of which can be viewed above.
Just 200 copies of ‘Yearbook’ are to be released on December 3rd and will include 4 unreleased tracks from the ‘Teenage Blood’ album sessions, a 30 minute documentary about the making of the album, directed by Anthony Jarman, plus b-sides, out takes, a Topman CTRL session, photos, videos and much more.
Tom explains: “We’ve chosen to release this all on a data DVD, so we can get as many high quality files on there as possible, so all you need to do is pop it into your computer and drag the files off the disc.”
“When writing Teenage Blood, I wrote over 100 songs, of which we recorded over 20, with 10 then making the record. A couple of my favourite songs we recorded didn’t make the album in the end, and although some have since been released as B-sides, some have never come out at all. Songs like, ‘Get Worse’ and, ‘Jane’ in particular, we all thought were going to be dead certs for the album, but it wasn’t to be.”
And explains about the documentary: “I think Anthony has very sensitively captured the stress, elation, twists and turns involved with recording an album, let alone in a barn, in the rain!”
Those who pre-order the DVD instantly receive a free download of new track ‘Get Worse’, which can also be streamed here:
