Scottish hip-hop band Stanley Odd are delighted to announce that they will be kicking-off 2013 with a special headline show in collaboration with the Electric String Orchestra at the Old Fruitmarket, Glasgow on Wednesday 23 January as part of the prestigious Celtic Connections festival.
Following their Celtic Connections debut at ABC1, Glasgow last year, the show will this time see the band rework material from their latest album ‘Reject’ and tracks from their back catalogue with the spectacular 12-piece string section, the Electric String Orchestra. As a pet project of the Cairn String Quartet, the Electric String Orchestra have already turned heads following their debut at Oran Mor, Glasgow earlier this year, which saw them perform with the Twilight Sad, Rachel Sermanni and other special guests.
In addition to the forthcoming Celtic Connections date, Solareye of Stanley Odd will be releasing a free solo EP later this month, featuring collaborations with beat-makers Dunt (ABAGA Records) and Harvey Kartel, as well as MCs Louie (Hector Bizerk) and Tickle (Black Lantern Records). The Pageant, will be released as a digital download on the 19th November from link and will be supported by live shows at Bloc Glasgow on 21st November with Hector Bizerk and 22nd November at Electric Circus, Edinburgh, as support to The Milk.
