Last night the 5th annual UK Music Video Awards were held in London’s Leicester Square at the legendary Empire Cinema, where a throng of British filmmakers assembled to celebrate creative excellence in British music videos.
British artists who scooped awards at the event include Plan B, Alt-J, Spiritualized, Will Young, Kasabian, One Direction and M.I.A. – whose video for Bad Girls, directed by Romain Gavras, picked up The Video of the Year award as well as Best Pop Video and Best Styling in a Video. Romain Gavras also picked up the prestigious Best Director award.
