BLASTED is the bastard offspring of former Winnebago Deal and occasional Mondo Generator rock n’roller Ben Perrier.
His evergreen love of punk rock bled through into the two piece maelstrom that the ‘Deal whipped up over their illustrious career and although their anthems were doused in a flammable punk undercurrent there were always three chords yearning to leap from his fret board that needed their own outlet.
Formed in early 2011 with his long time cohort Ben Thomas they recruited bassist Adam Clarke and set about playing incendiary rock n’roll just about as fast as they could. Two demos followed, as did gigging regularly across the capital until drummer Thomas decided to hang up his sticks and bassist Clarke was deported back down under. No time was wasted in recruiting former Do Me Bad Things Tommy Randhawa, a man who’s written a thesis on punk rock and doesn’t work up a sweat even when playing at a hundred miles an hour. Bassist James Phung was added to the fold and the line-up was complete and their debut four track EP recorded in a back street Camden Town studio.
“Exposed / Time To Die” is four tracks of eighties, Californian fuelled, hardcore punk mixed with a rock n’roll swagger that’s furiously fast and raw as fuck. It doesn’t matter if you’re old school, new school or expelled from school, BLASTED’s infectious roar is here to teach you a thing or two.
