New Teen Star Competition Coming To Glasgow

The launch of an exciting new competition for teens and pre-teens is heading to Glasgow. Teen Star is being launched this week with teens all around the UK set to get involved in a fantastic opportunity to get their name out there. The brand new music competition, Teen Star, is being brought to you by Future Music who already produce the hugely successful Open Mic UK competition bringing us such acts as Birdy and Hatty Keane.

Teen Star is a one of a kind singing contest looking to find the UK’s best teen singer, duo, vocal group or rapper to be crowned the UK’s Best Teen Star! The competition is already anticipated to attract over 8,000 entrants in its first year, and with auditions taking place soon at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, now is the time to enter.

Head of Future Music, Chris Grayston is excited ahead of the launch: ‘We are really happy to finally be able to present Teen Star to the nation and we can’t wait to see the talent in Glasgow. There’s no other competition out there like it and we are eager to discover the country’s freshest young talent.’

Teen Star has a prize pool worth thousands of pounds, including a £5,000 cash prize for the winning act to help develop their music. Contestants also have the chance to win prizes along the entire course of the competition, such as recording studio time with some of the country’s top producers and extensive coverage and promotion on MUZU.TV.

TeenStar is open to all with the auditions split into three age categories. There will be the late-teens, mid-teens and then a special category to search for the stars of tomorrow, the pre-teens.

The TeenStar competition takes place at some of the best venues in the UK including the Birmingham NEC and Sheffield City Hall and will be judged by some of the music industry’s top professionals, including representatives from BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing, regional press, local studios and record labels. The Grand Final is the climax of the whole competition and is staged at one of the most prestigious live music venues in the country, The indigO2, within The O2 in London!

The Teen Star champion will be crowned winner in front of a capacity crowd, including industry insiders, celebrity guests, national press, A&R from record labels, industry and media representatives who have the capacity to change the winner’s music career forever!

Whether it’s a pop, RnB, grime, acoustic or classical, Teen Star is ready to find the greatest undiscovered talent from across the country. Teen Star provides a platform to help acts get noticed and offers winners the potential to be successfully launched in the UK as a major recording artist.
