Tyler James Announces Album

Since signing a deal with Universal/Island Records, Tyler has been feverishly working in the studio on his new album. He has been locked away all summer collaborating with the likes of Jamie Woon, Fraser T Smith, Electric and Black Eyed Peas Will.i.am.

The first track off the album, Single Tear was produced by Electric, part of the legendary Stargate production crew. An emotional gem, its an off centre pop song with a dark, almost eerie edge that announces Tyler as a songwriter and singer to be reckoned with. It is released on October 22.

Discovered early in his career by producers Stargate and manager Simon Fuller. It has been since starring on BBCs The Voice, that a nation has fallen for Tylers unique soulful vocal, amassing a massive 180,000 Twitter followers. Now re-signed to Island Records, this is a deserved second chance for an incredible talent.

For Tyler, Its been one of the most intense experiences of my life. It started walking down the street humming some melodies and now here I am 12 weeks later and Ive got a finished album in my hands, I cant wait to share it.

Second chances in this industry are rare, Tyler says, I feel so lucky to even have a chance to release another album, but also getting to work with some of the best writers and producers around and people Ive wanted to work with for a very long time really makes me a happy boy.

Writing this album has not only been an incredible experience, it has also been quite therapeutic. These songs are from personal experiences yet at the same time I feel everyone can relate to the lyrics.

Tylers first album The Unlikely Lad re-entered the iTunes album chart Top 5 following his appearance on The Voice final. That album included his duet with Amy Winehouse, Best For Me. Mitch Winehouse, in his book, My Daughter, credited Tyler for helping break Amys career by putting her CD in the hands of those at Island Records.
