Telepathe, the Brooklyn based duo of Busy Gangnes and Melissa Livaudais, are pleased to announce their new single ‘Destroyer’ that will be released October 30th on Federal Prism, a new record label by renowned producer and TV On The Radio member David Sitek, on which he will personally record, mix, produce, and release a series of limited edition 12-inch vinyl picture discs with a uniquely curator-driven perspective.
‘Destroyer’, given a fresh mix by Sitek for the release, is the first taster from the follow up to Telepathe’s 2009’s seminal debut album ‘Dance Mother’. The single will come backed by a remix by Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor.

Telepathe’s forthcoming and much-awaited second album was produced in LA by the band and Lewis Pesacov and mixed by Ken Thomas (M83, Sigur Ros), and sees the band expand on Dance Mother’s dark, claustrophobic pop moving ever closer to the dancefloor. Inspired by “Miami freestyle, science fiction fantasy, and the blazing California sun”, the album was recorded at an apartment in Sunset Blvd in Echo Park, Los Angeles, where the duo set up their home studio and worked every day for two months writing, recording and arranging.
Along with this, Telepathe and audio app pioneers The Strange Agency have collaborated on an iPhone app to be released alongside Telepathe’s new single. The ‘Destroyer’ app is an experimental realtime loop manipulation and composition tool, in which users can remix the ‘Destroyer’ single and share their mixes with friends. The app also lets users import or record their own sounds, to mix with the single or to create entirely new compositions.
