ME are back and their rise to rock glory is further evident on this double A-sided single ‘Like a Fox / Rock and Roll Dandy’ due for release on October 8th 2012. The band will also be playing a special single release show on Wednesday 3rd October at London’s Sebright Arms.
The ungooglable Australian ex-pats have already caused a big fuss on the UK live circuit having played over a hundred shows already in 2012 (including London’s 1400 capacity Koko venue four times), touring with the likes of Kasabian, Death From Above 1979 and Panic at the Disco, the latter tour seeing them play to 30,000 people in ten days. Since April ME have appeared on the bill of the legendary Camden Crawl and Brighton’s Great Escape Festival and completed three more successful UK tours with King Charles, The Xcerts and Twin Atlantic.
The new double A-side showcases Like a Fox, taken from the band’s Another Story High mini album, which makes an instant impact with its rock hard riff and killer opening line (“Wake up, my dreams were so much harder than yours”). The second track is new song Rock and Roll Dandy, a ridiculously catchy homage to past musical glories which tells the tale of an eccentric dandy and reveals another layer of extravagance to this exciting new band.
ME are Luke Ferris (voice, guitar, piano), Damian Tapley (lead guitar), Michael Godde (bass) and Spike Rogers (drums) and the quartet have recently finished recording their debut album with renowned producer ‘Barny’ Barnicott (Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys, Temper Trap) and Grammy winning engineer Ian Dowling. The album is due for release in February 2013.
