Bunny-eared Danish quintet Sleep Party People will return to the UK this September on the back of near-universal praise for the lush and dreamlike sound of their 2012 album “We Were Drifting On A Sad Song” (“Genius” – The Sunday Times, “A masterstroke” – Drowned In Sound, “Perfect” – TLOBF, “very special indeed” – Crack, “Dream-pop at its best” – The 405).
After shows this weekend at Roskilde and Dreamtronica festivals, they have a busy European live calendar that takes them to major festivals in Poland, Germany and Belgium, before bringing their mesmerising stage show back to England for a run of five dates starting at the End Of The Road on September 1st.
They've been busy-like-rabbits in the meantime – a new video for the electronic lullaby-like “The City Light Died” has just gone live, featuring the eerie imagery of childhood innocence that's becoming their visual trademark with SPP mainstay Bryan Batz also finding time to collaborate with blog darlings Sun Glitters on a track called “Alone”, which is available to download here: link.
The second single to be gleaned from the record will be exhilarating, spiralling lunar stomp of “Gazing At The Moon”, released digitally on September 3rd.
