London/Berlin-based record label Erased Tapes celebrates five years of fusing classical and contemporary music with two exciting announcements…
After two sold out label nights at The Great Escape Festival Brighton and the AB in Brussels, October will see a full Erased Tapes 5th Anniversary Tour, which will bring three of their leading artists – Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds, A Winged Victory For The Sullen plus special guests – through Europe’s capital cities.
'Five Years of Erased Tapes' – an official video trailer has been made to revisit the past five years and opens with label founder Robert Raths's words: 'I always have to be able to look back and think: we did this together.' Ólafur Arnalds later adds: 'I think it's so interesting. In most people's heads classical music is classical music. And pop music, rock music, indie music is here – on the other side. But a lot of people don't realise: it's just instruments.', with Adam Wiltzie of A Winged Victory concluding: 'We're the outcasts. We're the Pariahs. I reckon we're the counter-cultural thread of our existence.'
