In her only live outing in the UK this year, the iconic French actress/ chanteuse Charlotte Gainsbourg will take to the stage with Kiwi psychedelic pop musician Connan Mockasin to close Summer Series at Somerset House on a resounding high on 19th July.
In this special one-off show, Charlotte Gainsbourg will be performing tracks from both her current album, Stage Whisper, and her catalogue alongside experimental creative sidekick Connan Mockasin who featured on her recent single ‘Out of Touch’.
Over her last 3 albums – “5:55” (2006), “IRM” (2009) and “Stage Whisper” (2011) – Charlotte Gainsbourg has emerged as a singular musical voice; hypnotic and ethereal, compelling and intimate, with previous collaborations with the likes of Beck, Air and Noah and the Whale marking her out as one of the more adventurous and distinctive talents we have today.
Charlotte Gainsbourg and Connan Mockasin join a dazzling rollcall of talent this year that includes breakthrough dubstep star Katy B, melancholic and majestic troubadours Tindersticks, the darkly dramatic popstar and Brit Award nominee Anna Calvi, and a night devoted entirely to the leading lights of the popular Afrobeats scene. Having sold out her first night almost instantly, Paloma Faith will now play an encore performance on 18th July.
For the third year running, American Express is headline sponsor of Summer Series at Somerset House meaning Cardmembers will benefit from presale and reserved tickets for all shows. This is one of the many events that make up American Express’ Preferred Seating Programme.
