The Wanted Announce Lightning As New Single

Hot on the heels of their huge summer Number One single ‘Glad You Came’, The Wanted return with a brand new single entitled ‘Lightning’ on 30th October.

The release is the third single to be taken from the band’s forthcoming second album to be released on November 7th and is an astonishing euphoric anthem poised to pack out dance-floors across the UK this autumn.

Exploding pop tune ‘Lightning’ was produced by Steve Mac (who the lads teamed up with to spectacular effect on ‘Glad You Came’). The video which will be unveiled on September 23rd was shot on a ranch in the Hollywood hills last month.

Incredibly, only a little over a year has passed since the band’s debut single ‘All Time Low’ shook the sound of pop music to its core and became a Number One smash hit, bringing a blast of much-needed fresh air to the charts. Since then, there has been no stopping this extraordinary band. From a ‘Best British Single’ nomination at the BRIT Awards to a deal with ultra-hip American label Def Jam, the band have found record-breaking success at every turn, scoring 30 million YouTube views, selling 400,000 copies of their eponymous debut album and rounding off the summer by playing to over 16,000 people in their rammed tent at V Festival.

Later this year The Wanted will continue their quest for world domination by supporting Justin Bieber on his sell-out South American tour, after being personally requested by the all-conquering teen himself. The Wanted will also embark on their first UK arena tour early next year, playing London’s O2 in March. There is simply no stopping them now.
