Battlefield Band's Music Tryst Festival This Weekend

Battlefield Band's Music Tryst Festival takes place this weekend from 5-7th August 2011 at the National Mining Museum, Midlothian, Scotland.

The Festival features a wide range of bands, including Mike Whellans, Michael Marra, Tich Frier, Chloe Matharu, Allan MacDonald, George Duff, Ewen Henderson, Alasdair White, Mike Katz and Sean O'Donnell

The weekend offers superb traditional music; concerts, lessons/ workshops and informal sessions, suitable for all ages, led by the internationally acclaimed Scottish group Battlefield Band, who will be joined by some of their musical friends.

It will be held at the National Mining Museum Scotland, sited on one of the finest examples of a Victorian colliery; the ‘Lady Victoria’ at Newtongrange, Midlothian. The museum, just eight miles south of Edinburgh, preserves and presents Scotland’s mining heritage — a five star visitor attraction in its own right.

Showcasing some of the best and most respected musicians in Scotland, with bagpipes, fiddles, songs and craic to the fore, this should be a weekend to remember.
