Saltwater Band Announce New Album Details
Perhaps Australia's biggest indigenous group – Saltwater Band have announced that their new album Malk is to be released on August 29th – with its title track preceding it by exactly one week.
Malk is to be the third release in 15 years by Saltwater Band, who're comprised of eight Yolngu musicians from Galwink'ku Elcho Island lead by Manual Dhurrkay and featuring multiple award winning artist Geoggrey Gurrumul Yunupingu.
They combine traditional songs with raggae/ska-influenced pop; a uniqute combination that saw them receive and Aria Award nomination for Best World Music, multiple Indigenous Music Awards, two Deadly Awards for Best Album and Best Band.
