This year's Standon Calling is taking place over the weekend of August 12-14 in Standon, Hertfordshire, and boasts to be the only UK festival with a swimming pool. A three-day party, the event has a reputation for showcasing emerging talent – with such acts as Florence and the Machine, Mumford and Songs, Paloma Faith, The Noisettes and Glasvegas all performing at the festival before hitting the big time. Capped at 5000 people, it's known as one of the more intimate festivals.
50 new acts for the festival have just been announced, including live artists Lamb, Africa Express Soundsystem, Chrome Hoof, Azari & III, Washed out and Baxter Dury; and DJ sets from Jackmaster, Deadboy and Redinho, amongst many others.
Just 40 minutes from London, Standon Calling is an extremely accessible, attractive festival for the discerning festival-goer. More information can be found by following this link.
