Strawberry Ocean Sea single release show

On the back of the recent support slot with Glasvegas on the first three nights of their EUPHORIC /// HEARTBREAK tour, Glasgow indie band Strawberry Ocean Sea (SOS), have been hard at work in the studio (Chem 19 / Jim Neilson) putting the finishing touches on their new double A side single release.

Part 1 of the release, Down by the River, will be available as a digital download on iTunes from Saturday 4th June 2011 and the band will be holding a special night at The Arches, Glasgow, on the same night, to launch the release.

The band will also play a warm up gig for David O’Hagan of Mercury Records at The Beat Club Café Continental, Gourock (2nd June) and have been confirmed to appear at The Vintage Guru Stage at this year’s West End Festival (5th June) with more dates to follow.

Part 2 of the double A side single will be released and launched towards the end of the festival season and will be announced in due course.

Initial recordings, Today’s the Day, Enough is Never Enough and Under the Moonlight (Feb, 2011) were extremely well received with significant radio play (Jim Gellatly, Amazing Radio and Ally McCrae, BBC) and media interest and are still available to download at link

Summer 2011 is an important period for the band and the split double A side single release pre (Part 1) and post (Part 2) festival season will see Strawberry Ocean Sea cement their position as one of the best and most exciting unsigned bands in the country.
