The View: Record Store Day anthem

Scots band The View have been selected to create the official anthem for Record Store Day – the annual celebration of independent record shops which takes place on April 16th. The tune is a rerecording of 80s powerpop tune ‘I Need That Record’ by The Tweeds.

It will be released as a limited edition one-sided 7” single available from participating indie record shops. The band will also be playing Love Music Glasgow on Thursday. (They also appear at One Up in Aberdeen on Tuesday, but that’s just a signing, not a live set)

The band have also stepped in to sponsor a local kids’ football team, Dryburgh Athletic. The band’s logo will now be emblazoned across the jerseys of the team that guitarist Pete Reilly played for as a youngster
