Box Codax, the solo project of Franz Ferdinand guitarist Nick McCarthy, will release its second album on May 9th through German label Gomma Records.
The 13 track album, entitled Hellabuster, also features Austrian-born, London-based artist Manuela Gernedel and German poet Alex Ragnew, and is produced by Joesph Mount, aka Metronomy.
A concept album, Hellabuster is arranged around the theme of the young years of the peculiar and private life of a boy of the same name. It was recorded both in McCarthy's native Glasgow and in the Metronomy home studio, and a video for each of the 13 tracks will be created by artists – including Franz Ferdinand's bass player Bob Hardy for the track 'Choco Pudding'.
