The Wicked Whispers Announce EP Release

The Wicked Whispers release their eagerly awaited debut, an EP entitled THE DARK DELIGHTS OF THE WICKED WHISPERS’ on Monday June 6th 2011 on Electone Records produced by Steve Powell (The Stairs, Michael Head and The Strands, John Power) and Mike Murphy.)

The physical format of the EP will only be available as a 10” Vinyl limited to just 300 copies. This special collector’s edition will include the 10″ Vinyl as well as Limited Edition artwork.
The Wicked Whispers will be premiering their first ever video ‘Amanda Lavender’ in the next two weeks, giving fans a taste of their eagerly awaited debut.

“The video was directed by Liverpool photographer Mark McNulty and edited by Brainface, it takes inspiration from Alice In Wonderland as well as films Labyrinth and Return to Oz. We filmed in the worlds largest garden maze, on location in Snowdonia, North Wales, the video stars Merseyside’s most talented rising model Charlotte Cooper, playing the lead of Amanda Lavender” says singer Mike Murphy.

‘THE DARK DELIGHTS OF THE WICKED WHISPERS’ will available for pre-order on Monday 4th April 2011 from selected stockists.

The Wicked Whispers are one of the most hotly-tipped acts emerging from new music scene in Liverpool. Since the group's debut performance to a large outdoor crowd at the Mathew Street Festival 2010, the band have played a short introductory UK tour and organized their own 60's inspired homecoming event 'The Butterflies Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast' at The Static Gallery, Liverpool.

The night was a sold out success and grabbed local and national media attention with performances from The Crazy World of Arthur Brown and DJ Will Sergeant (Echo and The Bunnymen).

Since then the band have been Liverpool Echo's 'One to Watch', have had extensive airplay on BBC Radio Merseyside Introducing and were selected to attend Radio 1's BBC Introducing Masterclass at Abbey Road and Maida Vale Studios. The band's running success has come from strong local support and word of mouth following two teaser demo tracks posted online in 2010 to get fans hooked.

Taking inspiration from the psychedelic West Coast explosion of circa 1967-1969 along with overtones of country, soul and 60s French pop, The Wicked Whispers bring a dark twist to the combining genres creating something altogether new and unique.
