Tim, Olly and Mark, aka Filthy Dukes, proudly announce the release of the 'Machine Clap' EP. They've also decided to side-step the traditional promo cycle and make it available to buy instantly on Beatport (it will be on general release with iTunes on March 6th).
With a clear shift in how the record industry has to operate from now on, many artists' music can now be bought officially from the first radio/club play and with this EP purely focussed on the dancefloor and DJs, it made perfect sense to the Dukes to follow this new path. Tim tells us, “We have so many people ask us where they can buy the records we play in our DJ sets, but often it's a case that the record isn't out for another few months and we didn't want that. If we're lucky enough for people to want to buy our music, lets let them!”
Having spent the past two years recording and performing their 'Nonsense In The Dark' LP – signed to Fiction/Poydor – the Dukes now believe the time is right to return to the dancefloor, “After being on the road for the past year on our live tour we were desperate to get back to the clubs and start DJing properly again” explains Olly, “Machine Clap is the result of this. We wanted to make a big beast of a record, that would sound great on any dancefloor or festival tent – just something that would make people go crazy.”
Consisting of 4 huge synth-driven club tracks that take on tech-house to acid-electro (including a remix from Visions Of Trees), the 'Machine Clap' EP is already being supported by the likes of Simian Mobile Disco, Digitalism, Brodinski and Mylo – get your copy now and get ready to jack!
