With over one million UK album sales and a slew of memorable hit singles under their belts, The Feeling are back after a three year break with their aptly titled new single ‘Set My World On Fire’, released on March 14th.
The Ivor Novello winning band are going for gold with this exhilarating comeback song, which is taken from their brand new studio album. The song will be featured extensively as the official theme song for the BBC’s coverage of the Cricket World Cup (broadcast February 19th to April 3rd)
Written and produced by the band, the track fuses a refreshingly cynicism free brand of sunshine seeking tropicalia with The Feeling’s distinctive guitar pop powerhouse sound. A heady dip into springtime, ‘Set My World On Fire’ manages to be both epic and intimate and marks a charming return to form for these chart toppers.
“The fact that we’re going to be soundtracking the World Cup is a pleasure and a thrill,” says the band’s frontman Dan Gillespie Sells. “The single’s a perfect taster track from our new record, which all of us are properly excited about.”
The Feeling’s third album is made up of a set of tunes aptly described by the name of their lead single and is set for release in July. It follows 2006’s multi-platinum selling ‘Twelve Stops and Home’ and 2008’s Number One album ‘Join with Us’.
The brilliant album features collaborations with the Freemasons and was recorded in Dan’s home studio, The Dog House, in an old pub in London’s East End.
