Camden Crawl CCTips #5 Line Up Announced

Off the back of January’s stunning show, The Gaymers Camden Crawl 2011 Tips series is returning to The Bull & Gate on Thursday, 24th February with another selection of the best in new music. This month’s line up features an eclectic mix of artists including the Ivor Novello nominated Patch Williams and Nottingham newcomers Frontiers.

Topping the bill will be the darlings of the Berlin scene, Paris Suit Yourself and the vintage-inspired, visionary melodies of Leeds underground smash Spectrals.

Gaymers Camden Crawl CC2011 TIPS fifth instalment details:
Thursday, 24th February

SPECTRALS

CC: “Described by Drowned in Sound as “Spector-goes-surfing inspired lo-fi pop”, the beautiful and unique sound of Spectrals is currently setting the industry a buzz. Usually a solo operation, but here backed by a full live band, Spectrals’ music is a delicious mix of dreamy doo-wop melodies and bitterly ironic love-lorn lyrics that are a real treat.” link

PARIS SUIT YOURSELF

CC: “Paris Suit Yourself are the first “rock” band to be signed to Big Dada Records. Born in the clubs and warehouses of Berlin, their sound combines razor-edged guitars, crazed polyrhythmic drumming and free-association-esque lyrics to produce music that will make you laugh and cry. Debut album “My Main Shitstain” is out on Feb 14th.”

PATCH WILLIAM

CC: “London 4 piece Patch William come complete with an Ivor Novello nominated first single, a fanbase that includes Stephen Fry and a cello. They make raw but delicate music which moves from energetic, powerful guitar riffs and complex drum beats to atmospheric and lyrical sections backed by distinctive vocals.”

FRONTIERS

CC: “At various points, Frontiers’ blend of gritty aggression and reverb-drenched ambience has managed to draw comparisons to The Cure, Interpol and Sigur Ros by tastemakers such as the Fly. The BBC once described them with the words “Never has a Nottingham group of their age made such magnificently accomplished music full of tantalising promise”. ‘Nuff said, really.”
