Royksopp Bug Night At British Film Institute

The brilliantly talented Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland – aka Röyksopp – are back with the release of ‘Forsaken Cowboy’, the second single from ‘Senior’, their instrumental-only LP that was released to a wave of stellar reviews in September 2010 as the planned counterpart to their 2009 released ‘Junior’ album.

To mark the release, Röyksopp will be joining forces with acclaimed comedian and music-aficionado Adam Buxton for a special one-off BUG night at The British Film Institute (BFI) on Friday 11th February, showing a big-screen retrospective of the band's output in moving image. Including standout works such as ‘Remind Me’, ‘Eple’ and ‘Happy Up Here’, this unique BUG show will look back over the band’s career and their creative collaborations with directors such as Martin de Thurah, H5 and Andreas Nilsson.

“We feel honoured to have a Bug night all to ourselves. We have worked with many talented directors over the years, including the great Andreas Nilsson, and it will be exciting to see these films on the big screen for the first time. We are really, really humbled by all of this.” Torbjørn Brundtland.

BUG night with Adam Buxton @ BFI:
Inimitable BUG host Adam Buxton will present a special programme of music videos, tour visuals and rarities, and will be joined on stage by the band themselves. Following the show Röyksopp will DJ from 11pm in the Benugo Bar.

Date – Friday 11th February // Start time – 8:45pm // Venue – BFI Southbank, Waterloo, London, SE1 8XT
BUG is SOLD OUT – returns may be available on the night from the BFI Box Office

The BUG night will also feature a selection of works from Röyksopp’s recent video-competition with Genero.tv.

Regarded as one of Royksopp’s finest works, ‘Forsaken Cowboy’ was many people’s favourite track from the ‘Senior’ LP and it’s no surprise that the duo have now chosen to release it as a single. Combining the majestic ambient sounds that you can hear right across the album, they are able to find the perfect balance of both electronica and acoustica. It’s a thing of real beauty.

In typical Röyksopp style, the single will feature a secretive, unnamed and as yet unheard B-side. They always keep you guessing. Single released 27th February through Wall of Sound.
