Fresh from the release of his new album ‘See My Friends’, Ray Davies has confirmed he will be playing this year’s Royal Variety Show at the London Palladium as a special guest performer. The legendary frontman will perform the ‘See My Friends’ version of his famous track ‘Lola’ alongside singer Paloma Faith in front of Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, which will take place on December 9th and broadcast on the BBC on December 16th.
‘See My Friends’, which debuted at number 12 in the UK charts providing Ray with his highest chart entry for almost 45 years, is out now on Universal Music. It features collaborations with Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Mumford & Sons, Paloma Faith and Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody amongst others on updated versions of classic tracks from Davies’ back catalogue including ‘Waterloo Sunset’, ‘You Really Got Me’ and ‘Days’.
