X Factor Boosts Chart Sales For Existing Acts

Now, we all know how unbelievably massive X Factor is – hell, you can barely breathe without hearing about Cher or Katie’s latest dilemmas, or how middle-aged women everywhere continue to swoon over boys half their age. But have you ever wondered what happens to the songs that all the contestants sing on the show? Well, likely, they become MASSIVE CHART HITS. And now, thanks to Muzu – who’ve done a bit of digging and found the top songs by established artists that have done alright out of being on X Factor – there is a brand new widget featuring all of these videos.

Yes, I know – it’s like all your Christmases have come at once. These ten songs – all classics, I think you’ll agree – are available in one handy place. The list features Adele, Bruno Mars, Jeff Buckley and Journey – all of whom have got X Factor to thank for their recent chart successes.

But seriously, it needs to be said how much of an impact X Factor can have on the charts – no less than 21 songs are in the iTunes top 200 this week after being featured on this year’s X Factor! Songs like Barbara Streisand, Make You Feel My Love, and Creep – all earning an extra buck in the charts thanks our favourite Saturday night show.

It’s not just songs – artists who appear on the show don’t do bad, either – Shakira and the Black Eyed Peas saw sales of their singles increase by over 300% after appearances on X Factor – like I said, MASSIVE.
