Chilly Gonzales Announces Piano Talk Show

Chosen by Apple to soundtrack the latest iPad advert, Chilly Gonzales releases the slick single ‘Never Stop’ on 5 December. True to it’s name, since it’s original release back in April, ‘Never Stop’ literally has not stopped, building momentum not only with the iPad advert, but also with huge support at Radio 1 from the likes of Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Rob Da Bank and Jaymo and George as well as regular plays on 6 Music and Xfm. It certainly is the gift that keeps on giving. Paired with the overwhelming praise for his new album Ivory Tower, (with DJ Magazine scoring it 9/10 and stating “all you really need to know is, this is amazing”) Chilly Gonzales looks set to finally conquer the UK.

Produced by Boys Noize and recently remixed by Erol Alkan, ‘Never Stop’ delves into yet another genre with ease, seemingly doing it better than all the poor schmucks who spend a lifetime trying. From the stark finger click intro, swiftly joined by the layers of piano and Gonzo’s ‘never stop’ vocal refrain, we are taken on a deft and addictive journey that builds into an acidic euro pop crescendo. ‘Do it again?’ Don’t mind if we do thanks.

The B side is ‘Never Stop’ (Rap Version) which sees Gonzales deliver his inimitable sharp witted rhymes and cutting humour. With his version comes the video starring hula hoop virtuoso Marawa The Amazing, it’s a treat for the eyes: link

With luminaries of the entertainment world from Chris Morris and The Mighty Boosh to Erol Alkan and James Ford seen jossling for a place at previous shows, Chilly Gonzales returns to London for a full band show at The Scala in November. Unlike his previous Piano Talk Shows, this time Chilly will have two drummers and two pianos on stage… Guaranteed mayhem.
