Cheryl Cole Is A Mime Artist

I know I said I wouldn’t write this week’s editorial about The X Factor, and to be fair it’s only partly about it. It’s mostly about Cheryl Cole who just happens to be an X Factor judge and mentor. Cheryl was this weekend’s biggest talking point. With her interview with Piers Morgan that was shown on Saturday night and her performance on the X Factor results show on Sunday, she was all over our screens, newspapers and magazines all last week.

Personally, I’m not a fan of Ms Cole and the only part of the Piers Morgan interview I caught, looked over rehearsed and very staged. This wasn’t the in depth, heart wrenching interview that I was expecting, this was Cheryl having practiced and learnt the questions and answers in advance. A brilliant PR move but if this was the most, difficult year of your life you want to try living in the real world again Chezza. I used to think she was brilliant, down to earth and a hard girl done good but she’s starting to believe her own hype as the “nation’s sweetheart” and she’s going against all she used to represent.

To top it all off she spends every Saturday night commenting on the X Factor contestants’ vocal abilities, yet mimed her own performance on the show on Sunday. What kind of example are you setting there Cheryl? And yes, just in case you’re wondering I STILL hate Cher!

So, this wasn’t really an X Factor editorial at all was it? Well maybe a bit, but not entirely. I’m trying to move away from it!

Anyway on the site this week we have interviews with The Cat Empire, Jay Mya and Exit Calm. We have new videos from Boys Like Girls, Mark Sultan, Underworld and Awolnation, plus we have competitions to win a Salford Lad’s Club t-shirt, tickets to see Dirty Dancing, an iPod Shuffle and Madness tickets. If you’re itching to get out The Strange Death Of Liberal England, The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, Elliot Minor and Feed The Rhino are all on the road.
