George Michael Is Spending His Jail Term Playing Pool

The ‘Faith’ singer – who is serving a custodial sentence for driving under the influence of drugs and possession of cannabis – is said to be taking on other inmates at the popular game at Highpoint Prison in Suffolk, East England, where he was moved last Friday (17.09.10) from London’s tough Pentonville Prison.

George, 47, has his own cell on the good behaviour wing at the facility, and is mixing with the other prisoners – in contrast to his time at Pentonville where he spent most of his time in his cell and frequently broke down in tears.

Amanda Hunt, who was visiting another inmate at Highpoint Prison, told The Sun newspaper: “He looks quite slim and old – but everyone says he seems friendly. I don’t think anyone is giving him a hard time.

Prisoner Steve Dench added: “He’s pretty good at pool.”

However, other inmates are said to be upset that George has his own cell at the low security prison, where most other people have to share, and claim he is receiving preferential treatment.

George will serve four weeks of his eight-week sentence in custody, followed by another four weeks supervised by the probation service.
