Johnny Foreigner Make Triumphant Return

Spit n’ polish-fresh and full of the poppy excitement usually reserved for big-eared puppies, UK indie rock champs Johnny Foreigner return with a brand new 6 track EP – ready to powerfully smash, then tenderly caress your ears. Hailing from the second city with an impressive back catalog and a sweat drenched devoted fanbase, JoFo have teamed up with lovable indie label Alcopop to showcase their ravenous appetite for razor-sharp hooks, luscious melody and succulently raucous/gentle indie pop heroics.

Previously splashed across every right-thinking indie magazine (including an Artrocker cover for their last full length) and sharing tours with the likes of Dananananaykroyd, Los Campesinos!, The Futureheads, The Subways and Sky Larkin – Johnny Foreigner probably need no introduction; but this is not just business as usual, with Alexei Berrow, Kelly Southern and Junior Elvis Washington Laidley busy exploring new sounds on some of these tracks whilst still keeping faithful to that signature JoFo ethos.

Yes there are frenetic guitars, with urgent vocal hooks and giant noise-pop chorus – the double drum tracked coda to 'the wind and the weathervanes' is probably the loudest thing the band have ever recorded, but there’s a real tender side on this EP too – ‘robert scargill wins the prize’ floats on a ukulele and a fuzzy organ bass and 'yr loved' is mostly whispered vocals and harmonics loops. There's also a gorgeous cover of Sparklehorse’s The Most Beautiful Widow' floating around the internet too – you will love.

The band also began their Exorcism Project, sending out 20 signature-style plush toys ghosts into the world, orders of which hit the limit in less than 20 minutes. You can view the project here: link

JoFo will be supporting the release with a 10 date tour (venues TBC) with Stagecoach throughout November. More information can be found on bloggyforeigner.blogspot.com
