White Sunday define classic British rock n’roll. Melodies, meaningful lyrics, dirty basslines and an overdose of raw power. This is a band who bypassed the Britpop hangover, instead choosing Bruce Springsteen and Pete Townshend as influences.
Frontman James Glanville says, ‘We’re in a band to play live, to play big shows, and to fulfil a dream of crowds singing our songs right back at us. It’s the reason I started this band.’
Despite describing themselves as an out and out live band, White Sunday have spent the last 12 months locked away in the studio with producers Sean Genocky (The Futureheads), Adam Whittaker (Mark Ronson, Doves) and Dave Allen (The Cure), to refine their sound and create a debut album they can be proud of.
Single ‘Nothing Without the Music’ is available now and the band are about to embark on a UK tour, including a stop at London’s 02.
‘There’s a need for an exciting, passionate rock’n’roll band at the moment,’ says Glanville, ‘We just hope it’s going to be us.’
