mflow, the unique digital music service that encourages social music discovery and helps fans recommend and share music in return for a percentage of any resulting sales, has joined forces with RCA Label Group to instigate a high profile promotional campaign for the new Hoosiers album ‘The Illusion of Safety’ , which is released on August 16th.
The Hoosiers are British pop band consisting of Irwin Sparkes (vocals, guitar), Martin Skarendahl (bass guitar, acoustic guitar), and Alphonso “Alan” Sharland (drums, percussion).
Their acclaimed double platinum debut album, The Trick to Life, reached number 1 in the album charts in October 2007 and featured the top 5 hits Worried about Ray and Goodbye Mr A
The Hoosiers were one of the first major bands to engage with mflow and have since accumulated over 5000 followers on the platform and regularly flow their own music recommendations to their fans.
All users who sign up to ‘follow’ The Hoosiers on mflow during July will receive a free download of a six track sampler previewing tracks from the new album and will be entered into a competition for the chance to win tickets to a secret Hoosiers gig in London.
This intimate show will take place at the end of July and mflow are offering 100 pairs of tickets to mflow users. Winners will be chosen at random on Thursday 22nd July.
London’s free morning newspaper The Metro, which has a daily readership of over 1 million, has also come on board to help promote this new initiative and will carrying both online and print editorial coverage of the promotion throughout July. They will also be offering tickets to their readers and will be streaming tracks recorded at the gig on their website after the show.
The Hoosiers have also produced an exclusive video for mflow, which will show users how to sign up to this new promotion and how to access the free music they are making available.
mflow users download an easy-to-install mflow application that allows them to discover new music, follow other users, build a network of trusted sources, recommend music to others, browse, search and purchase music online.
mflow also rewards users for sharing and recommending music – If a friend or follower likes a track that a user recommends and subsequently buys it, the person recommending that track automatically receives 20% of the purchase price in the form of a credit to spend on more music.
