First Aid Kit have announced that the third single to be taken from their critically acclaimed debut album “The Big Black And The Blue” will be “Sailor Song”, released on the 12th July on digital download.
The band have just completed a string of sell out show on their first US headline tour, of which they've been getting an amazing response. The last date on the US tour at New York City's Mercury Lounge reduced them to tears (in a good way), when they sang from in front of the stage without
accompaniment of their drummer, the track 'Ghost Town' from their debut.
There's a line in the song that the girls tend to change when playing in different cities, but in the original they reference New York – a realisation that they've come so far from their native Sweden. In attendance at the show was non other than Karen O And Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
A clip from the Mercury Lounge of them singing in front of the stage has been uploaded by one of the audience members here: link
