After last year’s resounding success, Festibelly bring 'Folk Off' back with a bang for 2010. Last year saw five acoustic artists battling it out for the Festibelly crown, with Toy winning the gig and playing an exclusive set to 2009’s revellers and now opening Festibelly 2010. They’re kicking it all off again with five of 2010’s best artists performing at this year’s event on 28th August. The winner will be judged by the crowd and awarded a full slot at Festibelly 2011.
To be in with your shot to play at this and next year’s festival send your best acoustic demo as an MP3 with info and pics to folkoff[at]festibelly.com. All ages may enter, however any person under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The deadline for all entrants is 5pm August 16th. The five finalists will be announced on 19th August.
Festibelly 2010 returns, bigger and better with musical performances packing talent from across the board. Electro-rock duo The Big Pink are headlining alongside the likes of pysch-folk-rockers King Charles, grime pop pin-ups Man Like Me, indie rockers My Tiger My Timing and quirky folkers Lulu and the Lampshades. They’ll be joined by Tek-One with his live dubstep act, DJs Enchanted Hunters and dancehall/dubstep group Reggae Roast.
Other festival antics this year include additional areas hosting comedy, late night silent disco and campfire. Secret Wars are joining the antics once again with live art battles and installations in their own arena. Festibelly supports local industry and will be featuring the best haute cuisine the New Forest has to offer, from hog roasts to falafel.
