Metallica Announce Deluxe Edition Vinyl Re-Issue Of Load

Following the hugely successful deluxe edition vinyl re-issues of the first three Metallica albums in early 2008 and “…And Justice For All” and “Metallica” in 2009, Universal are set to release the bands sixth album, “Load”, in July 2009.

Metallica are quite simply one of the most influential bands of all time. Multi platinum album, video, single sales worldwide, the band have played to countless millions of fans over the past 25 years. When it comes to musical legends, Metallica are from the top echelon…

“Load” was Metallica’s sixth studio album and was originally released on the 4th June 1996. The album went on to top the Billboard Top 200 charts for four weeks and has currently sold over 5 million copies in the USA alone. Displaying a change in sound and direction for the band (Lars Ulrich is quoted as saying “This album and what we're doing with it – that, to me, is what Metallica are all about: exploring different things. The minute you stop exploring, then just sit down and fucking die”) the album brought together, now classic, Metallica songs such as “Ain’t My Bitch”, “Hero Of The Day”, “King Nothing” and “Bleeding Me”. The album was produced by Bob Rock.

The deluxe album will be released in two formats. First a standard 2LP set in 33 1/3 rpm and 180 gram vinyl. The album will be also released as a deluxe box including 4 x heavy 12″ records in outer 300gsm sleeves with gloss varnish, box with glossy lamino and lyric sheet insert. This addition to the series will allow Metallica fans the option to hear this legendary album as never before… Louder, Faster, Heavier!!!

The audio is half speed Mastered from the original analogue tapes at Mobile Fidelity for the ultimate listening experience… The best Audiophile Quality….

Enough of the hyperbole….It’s Metallica…..it’s “Load” in deluxe form…what are you waiting for…

Deluxe edition vinyl re-issue of Metallica’s “Load” will be released through Universal on the 26th July 2009.
