U2 to pull out of Glastonbury?

As Bono recovers from emergency back surgery in Germany, Glastonbury ticket holders are left wondering whether U2 will be able to make their headline friday night performance?

As main support to the legendary irish rockers on the Friday evening, Dizzee Rascal could take U2's place and close the Friday night Glastonbury line-up if Bono's bad back means the band can't honour their headline slot.

According to The Sun, festival organiser Michael Eavis has also put in a call to Chris Martin to check Coldplay's availability (Coldplay had previously triggered rumours of a headline appearance for 2011)

As fans wait for a formal statement on the upcoming dates, U2 manager Paul McGuinness said of the tour: “We will make plans to reinstate the dates as soon as possible.” He added it was “unfortunate that we're inconveniencing fans” and that it was causing disruption to the band's 400-strong crew.

He advised fans to continue monitoring the U2 website for further news, which can be found here: link
