Slipknot Bassist found dead

The 'Des Moines Register' has reported the death of Slipknot bass player Paul Gray (AKA #2 the pig)…He was found in an Iowa hotel at 10:50 a.m. by an employee at 'TownePlace Suites'

According to the paper, local police have said “there was no evidence of foul play, but the investigation is ongoing” with a post mortem scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday 25th May 2010)

Slipknot first found commercial success with self titled album 'Slipknot' and continued to round up 'maggots' (their, ahem, affectionate name for their fans) with further landmark releases including 'Iowa', 'Vol 3' and most recently 'All hope is gone', all together selling over 14 million records worldwide.

Paul Gray made up only one of 3 original members left in the 9 piece band, and served as the only member to retain his original position. He had also played with Anal Blast, Vexx, Body Pit and Inveigh Catharsi.
