GlobalGathering is delighted to announce that LA-based and world-renowned festival art impresarios, The Do LaB, will be designing both the GlobalGathering VIP area in addition to one of the two outdoor terraces at this year’s 10th anniversary festival in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
In what promises to be a defining year in GlobalGathering’s meteoric history, the festival organisers have invited the Californian production team to travel over from the States and create two landmark environments, similar in scale to recent showpieces at festivals such as Coachella and Burning Man.
The Do LaB have become the undisputed masters in building interactive environments combining large-scale installations and cutting-edge lighting design. Together, they have turned production into an art form experience.
For six years The Do LaB has been striving to create new and inspiring installations but, for brothers Jesse, Josh and Dede Flemming, founders of The Do LaB, they have been finding new ways to entertain and wow people since childhood. Now with a strong team of artists, producers and creators behind them, they are able and excited to share their projects with people around the globe. The company takes an organic approach to everything they design and create using natural materials, found objects and sustainable resources.
Dede Flemming, a producer from The Do LaB, said ‘We are excited to be involved in such a universal brand as GlobalGathering and we have already begun building on some big ideas. Working in the UK for the first time will be a great experience and anybody looking to come to the festival will be in for a treat.’
James Algate, Festival Organiser said ‘this year we wanted to do something unique to celebrate our tenth anniversary, something that had never been done before at a UK festival! So collaboration with the creative genii that are The Do LaB seemed like an ideal match. On site production has always been top of our agenda at GlobalGathering and you only need look at the likes of the Godskitchen Boombox already present at the festival to see how we like to be distinctive in a saturated market. Coachella and Burning Man have pioneered on site art and production in the states and we want to bring the same to the UK festival goers.’
The festival in its tenth year has further additions to the line up to be announced in the coming weeks and another on site treat to be revealed in early June! With Faithless and Dizzee Rascal set to headline with Chase & Status and 2manydjs this landmark occasion is set to go down in history.
