Animated rockers Gorillaz have announced their first live date on Irish soil, at the 02 this September.
The 'Escape to Plastic Beach' tour will roll into Dublin on September 22nd for one night only. The band will showcase material from their three albums (Gorillaz, Demon Days and Plastic Beach).
The audio visual backdrop and artwork used on the tour is designed by Jamie Hewlett. Damon, Mick, Paul and the Gorillaz band will delight fans with a live set which could include pieces from De La Soul, Mos Def or the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, which have been featured in their previous concerts.
Plastic Beach is the third album from the band, which was released in March of this year. The album has received mainly positive and some rave reviews declaring it the album of the year and the pinnacle of 'forward-thinking pop'. The album went straight in at No.2 on the UK and US Billboard charts and at No.4 on the Irish chart.
Tickets for the gig start at a not-so-modest €59.80 incl. booking fee but the show promises to be an audio-visual spectacle, one which is not to be missed!
