US punk rock legends, Hot Water Music, who have inspired all number of today’s punk and rock acts head back to the UK for the first time in over five years, this June.
The band famous for their fantastic mix of raw aggression and hook-laden choruses will be looking to reignite the fanbase that has yearned for their return since their hiatus a few years ago.
Built on a foundation of open-mindedness, teamwork and democracy, HWM has been road and studio dynamos since coming together in Gainesville, Florida in the mid-1990s. By 2001, the quartet had aligned with Epitaph in time to drop the highly lauded A Flight And A Crash and its follow up, the much revered Caution.
Having been away from the scene for a number of years, the return comes after the success of a number of side-projects, most notably Chuck Ragan’s solo work. Ragan’s two albums have seen his stock rise and play a major part in the Revival Tour in the US and the folk-punk movement in the UK, where he has most recently been on the road with Frank Turner.
This new UK tour will excite both fans and critics alike, who are looking forward to having a real US punk rock band back on the road and showing the new kids on the block how it’s really done. The band will head to the following venues:
JUNE 21 LONDON ISLINGTON ACADEMY
JUNE 22 LEEDS IRISH CENTRE
JUNE 23 NEWPORT THE BASSMENT
JUNE 24 PORTSMOUTH WEDGEWOOD ROOMS
When Hot Water Music return to these shores you’ll be able to enjoy Jason Black thumping his bass, drummer George Rebelo keeping an expert beat, Chuck Ragan and Chris Wollard carve out blistering, memorable riffs, along with thought-provoking vocal delivery perfecting Hot Water Music's lure. Furiously intoned prose like, “I could waste away with politics/drown myself with wine/find myself through solitude/and inject poison into my mind,” is all the evidence needed to affirm HWM's genius.
