Despite a worldwide touring schedule that would make lesser mortals weep, Enter Shikari have added another UK festival headline appearance to the diary.
As a warm-up for their support slot at The Prodigy's massive Milton Keynes Bowl show, the band will be headlining the Redfest Festival, a small independent event held in the Surrey town of Redhill on Friday 23rd July (by our reckoning, this is the first time the band have played a show in the Surrey area since playing Horsham Leisure Centre in May 2006… no stage, little PA that kept falling over… the usual).
Amongst other artists appearing on the same day are former Enter Shikari touring partners and official 'Friends of Team Shikari' Twin Atlantic and LightsGoBlue.
Enter Shikari's UK festival commitments now stand at:
MAY
MONDAY 31 – EVOLUTION FESTIVAL (main stage headline) – Gateshead, Newcastle
JUNE
FRIDAY 11 – ROCKNESS FESTIVAL – Loch Ness, Inverness, Scotland
JULY
SATURDAY 24 – MILTON KEYNES – Bowl (with The Prodigy)
AUGUST
FRIDAY 27 – LEEDS FESTIVAL (NME/Radio One stage) – Leeds, UK
SATURDAY 28 – READING FESTIVAL (NME/Radio One stage) – Reading, UK
In the midst of all this – as well as two US tours, various European festivals and the band's first trip to Russia – Enter Shikari will be making a trip to Groningen, Holland to work with producers Noisia on a single project that may or may not see the light of day sometime over the summer. Details are sketchy until the finished recording is in our mitts; but given the ingredients, expectations are high.
