The proud recipient of the Best Line Up Award at the UK Festival Awards 2009, Lounge on the Farm is already flexing one of the most diverse and exciting line-ups for the festival season in 2010 with headline sets from Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, Toots & The Maytals and appearances from Tunng, Fionn Regan, Courtney Pine, Male Bonding, Silver Columns and Gold Panda, amongst many others. Now the Lounge on the Farm crew show just how far reaching their impeccable taste is with some mouth-watering new additions that run the gamut of musical styles.
Camden’s celebrated Flowerpot venue will be transporting their widespread reputation for showcasing quality music from their famous London haven to Merton Farm on Saturday 10th July to host the Farm Folk stage. With their headliners and firm LOTF favourites Kitty, Daisy and Lewis already announced, the Flowerpot line up will also include violin-fuelled goodness from Johnny Flynn, who will be celebrating the release of his forthcoming ‘Been Listening’ album, much admired Brightonian folksters Peggy Sue, country-rock sextet the Barker Band, pop-flavoured vaudeville from Alan Pownall and pure and primal rabble rousing from The Agitator. Plus there will be appearances from Beans On Toast, Rum Shebeen, The Musical Differences, Lu Lu And The Lampshades, Handshake, The Joker & The Thief and Medicine Show.
With the bucolic acoustic action well and truly covered LOTF jump to the opposite end of the spectrum with Kent’s premier Dubstep purveyors Dubbed Out, who recently celebrated their 1st anniversary. Collecting together the cream of the soundsystem punishing scene Dubbed Out’s contribution to a weekend of syncopated beats will include sets from remixer du jour Jakwob who walks a fine line between dubstep, hip-hop, drum n bass and breaks, harsh and tasty beats from Hospital Records’ Cyantific, creative trailblazers The Others, deep and glitchy groovemaster Marc Sov and mash-up mayhem from Twisted DJs. Plus there will be more eye-wobbling sub manoeuvres from My Mate Dave, Buzzkirk, Thunderskank and Dub Police crew J:Kenzo Vs Markomen, as well as jaw-dropping beatboxing from the previously announced Beardyman and supreme cut n paste shenanigans from DJ Yoda.
Spreading comfort, warmth, peace and general good vibes, Lounge on the Farm are especially pleased to welcome Strummerville to this year’s event. A charity organisation set up following the untimely death of Clash legend Joe Strummer that seeks to reflect Joe's unique contribution to the music world by offering support, resources and performance opportunities to artists who would not normally have access to them, Strummerville will be bringing their live acoustic Campfire Sessions to the Furthur Field offering some extra-special blissed-out late night action for all.
