The Finnish duo of Juho Paalosmaa and Tomi Hyyppä describe their sound as “music about dreams and time”. Citing influences as diverse as Sonic Youth and Yellow Magic Orchestra, Villa Nah conjure up glacial soundscapes synonymous with their homeland.
Villa Nah make their first UK live appearances in May, playing these select London dates:
LONDON
MAY 7 METALWERKS – 7 Torrens Street, Islington
MAY 8 URBAN OUTFITTERS – Oxford Street
MAY 9 THE DROP – Stoke Newington (Moshi Moshi Single Launch)
MAY 10 – CAMDEN BARFLY (with Shy Child)
The duo's stunning debut album Origin is released on May 17th on Keys of Life.
Tracks such as All The Days and Rainmaker are haunting dancefloor numbers with a Balearic tint. Some Kind Of Dream and Remains Of Love have an instant 80s pop feel that suggests OMD or Depeche Mode, while Envelope and Kiss And Tell swoon and shimmer as they unfurl.
The album is preceded by their debut UK single Running On b/w Ways To Be on May 3rd, released by the UK’s premier tastemaker label, Moshi Moshi.
