First Headliners Announced For Somerset House Summer Series

The open-air concert series at Somerset House, London is a unique event in the summer’s live music calendar. This year the programme runs from 8 to 18 July.

The courtyard of Somerset House has played host to an inspirational line-up for the past eight years, and 2010’s season will be no exception. This year, London’s premiere open air venue have invited Air, Corinne Bailey Rae, Florence + The Machine, Mystery Jets, N-Dubz, Noah & the Whale, Soul II Soul, The Temper Trap, and The xx to headline, with a further announcement of headliners and supports to be made very soon. Tickets go on sale on the 26th March.

This year’s programme brings together five different musical strands of young London; Camberwell’s Florence, Twickenham’s Mystery Jets and Noah & The Whale, Camden’s N-Dubz, and Wandsworth’s The xx. The Series finale is a rare live outing from London legends Soul II Soul, celebrating the 21 year anniversary of the seminal ‘Club Classics Vol.1’. In addition, N-Dubz’s headline show will feature special guests and collaborations, and open with a performance by a group of young, breaking artists from across London who will have taken part in the What Next workshop programme run by Somerset House in association with Bigga Fish and Metropolis Music.

Eagerly awaited shows from Air, Corinne Bailey Rae, and The Temper Trap, and two further headliners to be revealed soon, complete a line-up that’s set to make the Summer Series at Somerset House in 2010 very special indeed.

Somerset House has effortlessly established itself as a much-loved destination for live music in London. For the past eight years, sell out crowds have seen performances from Adele, Air, Amy Winehouse, Belle & Sebastian, Bloc Party, Doves, Duffy, Erykah Badu, Goldfrapp, Grace Jones, Hot Chip, Justice, Lambchop, Lily Allen, Mogwai, Orbital, Pendulum, PJ Harvey, Robert Plant, Sigur Ros, The Prodigy, The Roots, amongst others. It is a chance for everyone to see exciting and innovative artists in a spectacular location. Somerset House has become an essential destination for music lovers from across London and beyond.
