Scary Mansion New Album

Scary Mansion are the Brooklyn based four piece fronted by illustrator and Fantagraphics published artist Leah Hayes. Set to release their latest offering on 29th March, second album 'Make Me Cry’ – A thrilling nine song, thirty minute masterpiece showcasing Hayes' talent, not simply as a songwriter, but captivating vocalist.

Signed to French label Talitres Records, the quartet consist of Hayes, her twin sister Vanessa on backing vocals and Bradley Banks (bass) and Benjamin Shapiro (drums) comprising of the rhythm section.

Reminiscent of their 2008 debut release 'Every Joke is Half the Truth', Hayes' fragile and delicate vocal hails at the forefront of each track. Every word sung with a heartfelt passion, offset by propulsive guitar riffs and subtle melodic hooks, enticing the listener deep into the songs. Songs both rich with textures and details that will reward repeated listens.

‘Make Me Cry’ marks a departure from their quieter, ethereal and more lo-fi sound, instead offering up a culmination of richer and denser tracks. It does however retain the unique sound of its predecessor through Hayes' use of the Thunderstick- a traditional American instrument rarely used in most contemporary music.
